Pratchett is one of my favourite writers. A lot of people just think that he writes comedy fantasy. But no, every joke in the books is not just for entertaining purposes, he wants to show the people the absurdity of normal life, in this world, and not the discworld. There is a lot of wisdom in his books, even some very good points about magick (if you have teenage kids who want to know something about magick and growing up, give them the Tiffany-Aching trilogy :D ) , especially all the witches from Lancre-books :D

It is very sad that he was diagnozed with Alzheimer. A good friend of mine said a few month ago (she loves this guy, too) that the saddest thing will be when DEATH comes to claim him Terry will have forgotten that he invented DEATH himself.

I hope he will still work for some decades, beating Alzheimer (yeah I know, not possible), and will write a few dozen more books. And perhaps some new sky channel discworld movies? ;)

This interview shows also how deep his thoughts are, although funny, but deep nevertheless. Humour/Laughing is the best attitude towards a universe that is a joke in itself (AC).

I'll end with my 2 favourite quotes from Terry:

"Things that try to look like things look more like things than things. Well known fact" Granny Weatherwax, coolest Witch on the Discworld

"The natural number of witches in a coven is ONE" also Granny Weatherwax (from Wyrd (!) Sisters, a great book with a very good description of summoning and banishing demons ;) )

Sad thing is that these new scientific discoveries will be ignored by creationists. Cause they do not beliefe in science at all, only their old aeonic book which they believe to be totally true and verbatim (right word?). Xtianity was pretty cool and fresh 2000 years ago but now some of those people, especially evangelicals (most creationists are evangelicals) frighten me due to their fanatism.

Hmm Sky is pay tv. But not available outside the UK, sadly. in the golden days of my childhood ;) it was free and I grew up with the DJ Cat-Show and Fun Factory (taught me my first english ;) ).

I had a card for sky once for a few month, "inherited" from a good mate who lived here in Germany as a british soldier. But that was/is the only way to watch it legally.

Something like this would be apreciated in other countries because our esoteric channels suck and are more "monty pythonesque" than interesting.

This is a great book. More a course or seminar than a "book". Very practically oriented and always very understandable which is good for such a complex subject like enochian magick. I attended Lons seminar about this topic (and it was mainly the book ;) ) and really enjoyed it. I look forward to work with it practically with a good friend and brother.

Hey,

Just heard about this site from Lon DuQuette's mailing list. Looks good, and it seems like a great resource. I've just added it to my blogroll on Plutonica.net - hope that's ok.

Good luck!

We just got this from George Hansen:

I like your ABRAHADABRA.NET.

By the way, Zetetic Scholar was made available by
permission of Marcello Truzzi's widow, Pat.

The PDFs of Archaeus were directly from Dennis
Stillings, who still owns the Archaeus Project.

Thanks again for the link.

Best regards,

George P. Hansen
