Beauty queen rejected as pageant judge for being a witch
Stephanie Conover, the current Miss Canada Plus, was due to judge the Miss Toronto Tourism pageant but has been dropped because :
“Our board of directors has eliminated her as a judge as tarot card reading and reiki are the occult and is not acceptable by God, Jews, Muslims or Christians. Tarot card reading is witchcraft and is used by witches, spiritists and mediums to consult the dark world.”
Miss Conover is a practising Wiccan, so at least they got the bit about witchcraft right. They quote Leviticus at her:
“Do not turn to mediums or seek out spirits for you will be defiled by them.”
Leviticus also says that you shall not suffer a witch to live - one can only wonder if they will hire a hit squad too?
The controversy over the case has apparently led to 16 of the 18 sponsors withdrawing from funding the pageant. This is excellent; it’s always best to hit bigots where it hurts most: in the bank balance.
